What is doniya kik?

Doniya kik (도니약국) is a South Korean pharmaceutical company headquartered in Seoul. Founded in 1941, it is one of the oldest and largest pharmaceutical companies in Korea. Doniya kik manufactures and sells a wide range of pharmaceutical products, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, herbal medicines, and medical devices. The company also operates a chain of over 800 pharmacies throughout Korea.

Doniya kik is best known for its blockbuster drug "Nolvadex" (tamoxifen), which is used to treat breast cancer. Nolvadex is one of the most widely prescribed breast cancer drugs in the world, and it has generated over $1 billion in annual sales for Doniya kik. The company also sells a number of other major drugs, including:

- "Lipitor" (atorvastatin), a cholesterol-lowering drug

- "Plavix" (clopidogrel), a blood thinner

- "Cymbalta" (duloxetine), an antidepressant

- "Levitra" (vardenafil), an erectile dysfunction drug

These drugs have brought in more than $5 billion in sales.

With these drugs, Doniya kik became the sixth South Korean pharmaceutical company that recorded more than 1 trillion won, or $896 million, in domestic sales, after Hanall Biopharm, Dong-A ST. Corp. Yungjin Pharm. Chong Kun Dang Pharm. and Boryung-Medi Pharm said. Korea’s Dongwha Pharm Co. and Greencross Corp have yet to share results. Hanmi Pharmaceutical Co. reported only the third quarter results as its financial year ends at the end of March 2020.
