What is a yan shu?

Yan Shu (991–1055), courtesy name Boyu, posthumously known as Duke Zhongxian (忠獻公), was Premier of China during the early Song Dynasty. He was credited for the prosperity and stability of the era during the reign of Emperor Renzong.
