Samba leader: The samba leader, or samba de frente, is the person in charge of setting the rhythm and pace for the samba dancers in a troupe or escola. The samba leader is usually an accomplished dancer who has a strong sense of rhythm and can dance in perfect synchrony with the other members of the troupe.
