When was the tango created?
The tango dance emerged in the late 19th century in the lower-class districts of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is widely considered to have originated in the arrabales, or suburbs, of the city, and was initially associated with brothels and the working class. The tango's origins can be traced back to various African, European, and Latin American influences, including the habanera, the milonga, and the candombe. The first tango compositions date back to the 1880s, and by the early 20th century, the dance had gained widespread popularity in Argentina.
