What is the chicken dance?
The chicken dance, also known as the Birdie dance, is a line dance originating in Germany. It is most commonly danced to the 1957 song "Der Ententanz" ("The Duck Dance") by the German singer Werner Thomas, also known as Werner Wichtig. The dance is usually performed by a group of people, each lined up behind the other. The dance consists of a series of simple movements that mimic a chicken, including flapping the arms, pecking the ground, and squatting down. The dance is often performed at parties and other social events, and it is especially popular among children.
