Why do you dance pangalitawo folk dance?

Pangalitao was danced during Spanish times by couples on the eve of the "Bisperas" or barrio fiesttas.

The dance is a pantomime of lovers walking, the man trying to catch the woman.

The dance ends when the man and woman hold hands facing each other and slightly bowing towards each other and to the audience.

The dance was popular in Zambales, but is now known mostly in Pangasinan.
