Who discovered the blues?

There is no singular figure who "discovered" the blues, as it evolved organically from African-American musical traditions and cultural experiences in the United States. The foundations of the blues can be traced back to spirituals, work songs, and other music created by enslaved African Americans during the 17th to 19th centuries. Over time, these musical elements融合ed with influences from other cultures, including European folk music, to give rise to the distinct musical form we know as the blues.
