How did rock and roll evolve from jazz?

While elements of early rock and roll music can be traced back to genres such as jazz, rhythm and blues, country music, and folk music, rock and roll did not directly evolve from jazz. It would be more accurate to say that it developed concurrently with and was influenced by various popular music styles of the time. Rock and roll emerged as a separate music genre with its own characteristic elements, including simple and repetitive chord structures, prominent backbeat rhythms, amplified guitars, and a blend of influences from different musical traditions.
