When did Miles Davis start playing Jazz?

Miles Davis started playing jazz in the 1940s. He began his professional career in 1944, playing in the Billy Eckstine band and recording with Charlie Parker. He went on to become a leading figure in the bebop and cool jazz movements, and later helped to develop the modal and fusion jazz styles.
