Assistant: Stands next to the injured arm with one hand supporting the injured elbow and the other hand bracing the back of the shoulder.
Patient: Grabs the assistant’s supporting hand with the uninjured arm.
- With the back to a wall, perform a shoulder extension by hinging at the hips.
- Maintain full extension during the movement.
- Allow gravity to pull the arm through the range of motion.
- Move slowly and control the weight into and out of the stretch.
- Repeat 10x; perform 3 sets, 3 times per day.
