What is disco freestyle?

Disco freestyle is a genre of dance-oriented dance music. It evolved in New York City and Miami during the early to mid-1980s due to an influence of electronic sounds. This genre can be thought of as disco that contains strong Latin American influences which makes for uptempo dance rhythms featuring live guitars, keyboards, synthesizers, and effects as drum machines with heavy emphasis on catchy melodies on top.
