Where did hip hop originate?
Hip hop originated in the Bronx, New York City, United States, in the 1970s. It emerged from the African American and Latino communities in the Bronx, particularly from the block parties that were popular at the time. These block parties featured DJs playing music, MCs (masters of ceremonies) rapping, and breakdancers performing their moves. The culture quickly spread to other parts of the world and eventually became a global phenomenon.
