What is a do-si-do dance?

Do-si-do is a simple country style dance move performed by two couples and is commonly found in square dancing. It involves two couples facing each other in a square formation with the man of one couple facing the woman of the other couple and vice versa.

- The dance begins with the individuals taking small or moderate steps toward their opposite partners.

- As the couples come together, they raise their right hands and pass by each other, letting go after passing through.

- They follow this by giving each other a short bow or curtsy.

- Next, the individuals turn around to face their original partners and return to their respective places.

- The do-si-do is completed with both partners coming back together in the center and facing each other again.
