1. Beginning Steps
- Begin facing each other, about four feet apart, with the man on the right and the woman on the left.
- The woman holds her skirt while the man holds her hand with both of his hands.
- Partners take three or four steps while hopping slightly on the beat.
- Repeat this step with the woman's left foot forward and the man's right foot forward, followed by another turn in the opposite direction.
2. Kumindang
- For the third time, the couple continues doing this but without hopping.
- When they reach the last hopping step, they face each other, making small movements with their head, neck, and shoulders.
3. Kuratsa
- Repeat the first steps for the fourth time, but this time, partners interlace their arms using an overhead hold at the end.
- While still interlaced, they take slow, waltz-like steps.
4. Hayunan
- Take short steps, and partners swing their clasped arms forward and back.
5. Tinikling Steps
- Do steps similar to the tinikling dance -- a Philippine folk dance that involves two bamboo poles tapped against the ground and dancers who need to step over and in between as the poles are tapped together in quick succession.
- As the man crosses over the woman, he releases one hand and swings the girl around. Partners then return to face each other.
6. Final Pose
- Partners end facing each other, slightly bending their knees and swaying their upper body.
