What does freeze frame mean in dance?

A freeze frame is a momentary cessation of movement in a dance performance. During a freeze frame, the dancers hold their positions and expressions, creating a static image that resembles a paused movie frame. Freeze frames can be used to create dramatic effect, emphasize specific moments, or transition between different sections of a dance piece. They often convey feelings of suspension, contemplation, or emotional intensity, adding a unique element of visual interest and storytelling to the choreography.
