Get into some comfortable clothes so you can move with flexibility and ease. Loose pants or a skirt are great types of clothing to choose when you are doing dance turns.
Begin your dance turn by bending both legs slightly and keep one foot ahead of the other foot. Bend only a little bit and make sure you keep your back straight and shoulders back.
Lift one leg up infront of you to knee height and keep it in the air. Practice keeping your balance and stay still. Balance is key to doing dance turns.
Look at an object directly in front of your line of vision. Keep your eyes focused on this spot throughout the entire turn. This focus will keep you from becoming dizzy or disoriented during the turn.
Then pivot your whole body while staying on just one leg. Try to do a 360 degree turn. Keep practicing this dance turn until you gain balance and can do many turns at once.
Get someone to watch you while you are doing this move, since there is a chance you might fall to the ground if your leg gives out or you lose balance. Be careful while doing these dance moves and ask a friend to be your support.
