What is basic steps of kalapati folk dance?

The Kalapati folk dance, also known as the "Dove dance," is a graceful and rhythmic dance originating from the Indian subcontinent. Here are some basic steps to perform the Kalapati dance:

Step 1: Starting Position

- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your body relaxed.

- Keep your arms at your sides and your head facing forward.

Step 2: Basic Step (Taali Maar)

- Keeping your feet in place, clap your hands while turning your palms facing upwards.

- This is called "Taali Maar."

Step 3: Forward and Backward Steps

- With the "Taali Maar" motion, take a small step forward with your right foot, then bring your left foot to meet it.

- Similarly, take a small step backward with your right foot, followed by your left foot.

- Repeat this step by alternating your feet.

Step 4: Single Leg Balance (Ektang Naachna)

- While doing the forward and backward steps, raise one leg (either right or left) while balancing on the other leg.

- Keep your arms at your sides, maintain your balance, and take your time.

Step 5: Turning Motion

- After completing a few forward and backward steps with the single leg balance, perform a turning motion.

- As you turn, switch the leg that you are balancing on.

Step 6: Chakkar or Chauffeur (Spinning)

- As you turn, gradually increase your momentum and create a spinning motion.

- Keep your arms stretched outward to maintain your balance.

Step 7: Ending Position

- Slow down the spinning motion and come back to the starting position.

- Lower your arms and join them in front of your chest, with your palms facing inward.
