What are the dance steps for kumintang?

The Kumintang is a Philippine folk dance performed by pairs of dancers. It is characterized by its lively and flirtatious movements, and is similar to the polka in some aspects. The following are the basic steps of the Kumintang:

Step 1: Stand facing your partner, with your feet shoulder-width apart and your arms at your sides.

Step 2: Step forward with your right foot and bring your left foot to meet it, bringing them together in a closed position.

Step 3: Step back with your left foot and bring your right foot to meet it, bringing them together in a closed position.

Step 4: Repeat steps 2 and 3, moving forward and back.

Step 5: When you step forward with your right foot, take your partner's right hand in your left hand.

Step 6: When you step back with your left foot, release your partner's right hand and place your right hand on their waist.

Step 7: Continue to step forward and back, alternating between holding your partner's right hand and placing your right hand on their waist.

Step 8: As you move, you can add your own variations, such as turning or leaning to one side.

Step 9: The dance ends when you come to a stop with your feet shoulder-width apart and your arms at your sides.
