Youth Dance Grants

Dance organizations provide local youth with an outlet for personal expression. It serves as a deterrent to a life of drugs, gangs and crime. Grants are available to help organizations with expenses like facility maintenance and other costs.
  1. Institutions versus Individuals

    • Some grants are available only to dance organizations, such as the National Endowment for the Arts' Access to Artistic Excellence grant. The Jessica Karrat Dance Scholarship Fund awards individual grants of $500 each year, which is paid directly to the institution on behalf of the dancer.

    Categories

    • Some grants are specific to the type of dance that the organization teaches. The American Tap Dance Federation (ATDF) only awards dance scholarships to youth who are 19 years old or younger and plan to enroll in an ATDF year-round tap dance class.

    Age Qualifications

    • Each dance grant has its own age-based eligibility requirements. For example, applicants for the Harlequin Annual Dance Scholarship must be between 15 and 21 years old, but some grants do not specify an age requirement.
