The Vegas Dance Explosion is an annual event that takes place over five days and nights, usually at the Riviera Hotel and Casino Convention Center on the Las Vegas Strip. In 2010, the event was held in mid-November and in 2011 it will commence on Nov. 16. Registration forms will be available through the DJ Dancing website or through the Riviera Hotel.
If you're new to line dancing, there are numerous workshops, some of which are repeats so despite the number of people attending this event you should get your chance to attend one or two. The location of the guest elevators at the Riviera means that you can get to the ballroom for the event without having to go near the casino. Any queries regarding this event should be made through the DJ Dancing administration.
In October, the Steady Steppers host its annual Las Vegas Weekend Jam V, an event that is
programmed toward a wide variety of dancers including line dancers, Chicago steppers, ballroom dancers, Texas swing-outs and even hand dancers. Steady Steppers is a group of dancers that was founded in 2003 in Detroit.
Line dancers don't have to worry about mixing in the same ballroom as other dance types as there two ballrooms at the venue, the Tuscany Suites and Casino. There is an opening gala followed on successive nights by a main event and a farewell bash. A wide variety of instructional workshops are in progress throughout the daytime. Registration forms for this event can be downloaded from the Steady Steppers website.
These two events both take place in late fall, which is without doubt the best time to visit Las Vegas as far as the weather is concerned. It is neither too hot nor too cold during the daytime, and it is only in November that the nights start to get cold.
