Watch videos of krump dancing to get the feel of it. It is a free-form style, so there is not a guide to steps. Rather, you are supposed to use movement and dance to express what you feel and want to convey. Krump dancing is featured in the movies "Stomp the Yard" and "You Got Served," as well as the "Step Up" movies.
Choose a style you want to convey. Krump dancers usually choose a particular style for each dance. Some of these include Goofy, which is funny and energetic; Flashy, which uses dazzling precision foot movement; Fight, which is a faked fight, usually performed with a crew; and Tricks, which uses a combination of different moves common to the genre. There are many more styles. Though it is free-form, krumping is not just random movement.
Dress the part. Many krump dancers use face paint, either to help convey the style they will present or in tribute to Tommy the Clown, the originator of krumping. Make sure the clothes you wear help convey your style while giving you the full range of movement you need to make the dance flow properly.
Choose your music. Most krump dancing is done to hip hop music, but some imaginative artists have used Latin rhythms and even classical music as a backdrop to their performance.
Dance. Do not worry if your first efforts are not pleasing. It takes time and practice to get the feel of and perform any free-form art style.
