Make a list of all the events you wish to include in your autobiography, along with the dates that each event happened, in a notebook using a pencil. Use the dates to rearrange the list in order.
List your first event as the header on a new page. Fill the page with thoughts you wish to include about the event. Record the different emotions you felt at the time, how people around you felt and small details you remember affecting you such as smells or sounds. Include visuals from your memory as well --- the colors or shapes of things, facial expressions or how the weather was that day or time period.
Create a new page for each of the remaining events from your list, going in order and fleshing out each event as thoroughly as possible.
Start with the first event and write it out in complete sentences, using story-telling style. Use your unique writing voice to describe the events with the details you listed.
Write out the rest of the events using the notes you created, transforming the simple thoughts and details into chapters of your life.
Read through the draft of the autobiography carefully, correcting spelling and grammatical mistakes as you go. Take notes of any places in the autobiography that need to be reworked or expanded upon.
Go over the draft once again, this time incorporating any changes you wrote down while doing the first read through.
