Dress in clothes that you think of a go-go dancer wearing, such as short and swingy skirts, "booty" shorts, fitted tops and bare midriffs. You can even wear lingerie. Such clothing will allow you to get into the mindset of a go-go dancer while giving your body the room it needs to move freely. Wear high-heel shoes that allow you to pivot and turn. These heels should give a nice shape to your legs, but the heels shouldn't be so tall or spindly that you risk twisting an ankle.
Place four chairs around your dance space so that their backs face the center of a 3-foot square. Pretend that this is your podium and the tops of the chair-backs are the rails around the podium.
Play club music that you feel like you can dance to. It can be hip-hop or hard rock, but it should make you feel sexy. This can be anything from Nine Inch Nails' "Closer" to "Pump It" by the Black Eyed Peas.
Undulate your body to the music. These sinuous movements are the core of the podium dancer's trade. Move slowly at first, allowing each muscle group to move in isolation. Think of a snake writhing.
Shimmy your hips to add vibration and energy. Do this by bending both your knees slightly and then alternating your legs as if you are walking in place very fast. The motion of a hip shimmy comes almost entirely from your knees and thighs.
Pivot and turn around in the podium space you have created. This will add more dimension to your dance. Move while undulating or shimmying, too.
Add level changes by squatting, kneeling and bending. This adds visual variety and interest.
