How to Use an I-Flex Stretch Unit

Flexibility is one of the keys to superior performance, and athletes -- especially dancers -- must train their bodies, joints and muscles to extend and stretch for full range of motion. The i-Flex Stretch Unit is designed with that purpose in mind, providing dancers a simple and portable tool that helps improve their flexibility. Because dancers travel to and from the studio, a portable exercise tool like the i-Flex Stretch Unit fits both their lifestyle and their training.

Instructions

    • 1

Hang the i-Flex Stretch Unit's metal bracket over the back of a door, and close the door. Make sure the door is firmly latched as to not open unexpectedly. The i-Flex features a black nylon strap which passes through the pulley that is now mounted to the door. At each end of the strap are loops to help the dancer stretch.

    • 2

Place one leg into one of the i-Flex's loops at the end of the unit's black nylon strap. Hold the other end of the strap with your hands. Face the door and use the wall to balance yourself as you begin to stretch.

    • 3

Pull the strap to lift your leg into the air toward the i-Flex's metal bracket. The nylon strap is routed through a pulley, so as the strap is pulled down on one end, the leg is pulled upward on the other.

    • 4

Adjust your body to try different positions as you stretch each leg. You muscles benefit from changing your position relative to both the door and the i-Flex. After stretching one leg, remove and insert your other foot into the strap to repeat the process.
