Unroll, measure, mark and cut a piece of foam lined subflooring which measures 16 feet long and 10 feet wide. Cut the subflooring with heavy duty scissors.
Lay the subflooring in the studio space. If the subflooring is heavily curled, roll the subflooring in the opposite direction it was previously rolled in. Allow the subflooring to sit for a few hours and then lay the subflooring out again.
Measure, mark and cut a piece of vinyl that measures 16 feet long and 10 feet wide. Lay the vinyl in the studio space. Smooth the vinyl with a vinyl roller to squeeze out any air bubbles or wrinkles in the vinyl. Tape the edges of the vinyl and subflooring to the original floor surface.
Measure a 4-foot wide and 8-foot high rectangle on the wall. The left edge of the rectangle should begin directly above the left edge of the flooring. Pipe a bead of caulking around the interior of the rectangle. Pipe beads of caulking diagonally between the corners. Position a mirror over the measurements and caulking. Press the mirror to the wall and allow the caulk to dry and secure the mirror.
Draw a 4-foot wide and 8-foot high rectangle to the right of the first mirror. Install the next mirror. Continue this process until all four mirrors are hung securely.
Measure, mark and cut two pieces of 4-inch by 4-inch lumber which are 35 inches long. These are the uprights of your barre. Measure, mark and cut two pieces of 4-inch by 4-inch lumber which are 16 inches long. These are the supports for your barre.
Measure 6 inches from the end of each support. Position an upright at each of the measuring points. Secure the pieces together with 6-inch wood screws threaded through the middle of the uprights. Position the assembled supports 12 feet from each other so the supports are parallel to each other.
Slide the mounting brackets on either end of the steel pipe. Slide the mounting brackets and pipe between the barre supports. Lower the supports so the mounting brackets are 1 inch from the top and sides of the supports. Secure the mounting brackets to the supports with 2-inch wood screws.
Place the barre against the mirrored wall.
