Who wrote the book Aladdin?

Aladdin is a folk tale of Arabic origin. It is one of the best known stories from The Book of One Thousand and One Nights, a compendium of Middle Eastern folk tales compiled in Arabic during the Islamic Golden Age. The exact author of Aladdin is unknown, as with most of the tales from The Book of One Thousand and One Nights.
