What is a mournful poem ending in y?

Elegy

The day is done, the sun is set,

The birds are gone, the trees are wet,

The wind is low, the air is still,

The world is hushed, the night is chill.

The moon is up, the stars are bright,

The heavens gleam with silver light,

But all is dark and drear below,

For death has come and laid me low.

My heart is breaking, tears will fall,

I weep and mourn for one and all,

For those who've gone before me now,

And those who'll come when I'm no more.

Oh, death, why must you take away

The ones we love, the ones we pray,

Why must you leave us here alone,

To face the world without our own?

But I will not despair or grieve,

For I know that death is just a sleep,

And I will rise again one day,

In a brighter world, where I will stay.

So I will say goodbye for now,

And lay me down to rest and bow,

In peace and hope and faith I'll be,

Until the day when you set me free.
