United World Poets (UWP) is an international organization that brings together poets from all over the world to promote peace, understanding, and cultural exchange through poetry. The organization was founded in 1968 in Sofia, Bulgaria, by the poet Pencho Slaveykov. UWP has a membership of over 1,000 poets from more than 100 countries. The organization's activities include organizing poetry festivals, workshops, and conferences; publishing poetry anthologies and journals; and providing grants and awards to poets.

UWP's mission is to promote peace and understanding through poetry, to encourage cultural exchange among poets from different countries, and to provide a platform for poets to share their work with the world. The organization believes that poetry has the power to bring people together, to break down barriers of language and culture, and to create a more just and peaceful world.

UWP organizes a number of events and initiatives to achieve its mission. These include:

- The UWP World Poetry Festival: Held every two years, the World Poetry Festival brings together poets from all over the world for a week of readings, workshops, and performances. The festival is a celebration of poetry and an opportunity for poets to share their work with an international audience.

- The UWP Poetry Anthologies and Journals: The UWP publishes a number of poetry anthologies and journals, which showcase the work of poets from around the world. These publications provide a platform for poets to share their work with a wider audience and to connect with other poets.

- Grants and Awards: The UWP provides grants and awards to support the work of poets from around the world. These grants and awards help poets to travel to international poetry events, to complete their writing projects, and to further their careers.

UWP is a vital organization that promotes peace, understanding, and cultural exchange through poetry. The organization's work is essential to creating a more just and peaceful world.
