What is a poem for sedimentary rocks?

Ode to Sedimentary Rocks:

In layers of time, they tell their tales,

Sedimentary rocks, with ancient wails.

Formed from sediments, compressed and bound,

They hold secrets of the Earth profound.

Sandstone, with grains of golden hue,

Whispers of deserts, once shining through.

Shale, with layers fine and delicate,

Preserves the stories of flora ornate.

Limestone, from the sea's salty spray,

Holds fossils of creatures long gone astray.

Conglomerate, with pebbles intertwined,

Speaks of rivers that flowed, wild and unconfined.

In canyons deep and mountains high,

Sedimentary rocks reach the sky.

They stand as witnesses to the Earth's might,

Through ages past, in day and night.

Geologists study their hidden lore,

Unlocking secrets they hold in store.

Historians read the stories they unfold,

Of ancient climates and life's ebb and flow.

So let us honor these rocks so grand,

Sedimentary layers, nature's sacred stand.

For they hold the whispers of the ancient past,

In every grain and layer, a tale to last.
