What were the earliest examples of Greek epic poetry?

1) The Iliad: It is a long narrative poem that tells the story of the siege of Troy. It is believed to have been composed in the 8th century BC by the Greek poet Homer, and the poem has remained continuously in circulation since antiquity.

2) The Odyssey: It is another epic poem attributed to Homer, and tells the story of Odysseus' ten-year journey home to Ithaca after the fall of Troy.

These two works are considered the foundational works of Western literature and are still widely read and studied today. They played a significant role in shaping the development of Greek literature and culture.
