What is Mary Jean entire poem Normal Day?

# Normal Day

I rise and wash,

I rinse my mouth,

I dress and go.

I am on the way.

The people are passing.

They do not know me.

How is it possible?

I was here yesterday.

In offices and factories

I type many letters

And send telegrams.

And people sign papers

And do other important business.

Noon comes,

And we gather for lunch.

We eat and drink

And talk and laugh.

Then we disperse.

I return to my desk

And continue to work.

The afternoon drags on.

My eyelids become heavy,

And I can hardly keep awake.

Finally, it is five o'clock.

Everybody goes home.

I am alone.

I look at the empty chairs

And feel sad and lost.

I wonder what it all means.

Where is it leading?

I go home,

And have supper,

And wash the dishes.

Then I go to bed.

The same thing happens the next day,

And the next,

And the next.

It is an endless cycle.
