Go to the U.S. Copyright Office website. Hit "How to register a work." You will be taken to the Online Services page. You can register your work online. There is a $35 fee for registering your material online. Click "Electronic Copyright Office." Login with your user name and password or register as a new user. Complete the form and submit it electronically, along with a payment via credit or debit card. You can also pay with an electronic check or a Copyright Office deposit account. You will also need to submit your poetry electronically, using the proper file format.
Click "Form TX" on the Online Services page to register your work by mail. Print out the form and fill it out by hand. Mail your payment of $65, your poems and the form to: Library of Congress, Copyright Office-TX, 101 Independence Ave. SE, Washington, DC 20559-6222. Your payment must be in the form of a check or money order made payable to: Register of Copyrights.
Hit "Form CO" on the Online Services page to complete a form online, print it out and then mail it. The cost for this service is $50. Click "Download Form CO." Fill in the form, using your computer. Print out the completed form and mail it to: Library of Congress, Copyright Office, 101 Independence Ave. SE, Washington, DC 20559-6222. Include your poems and a payment in the form of a check or money order made payable to: Register of Copyrights.
