How to Keep a Poetry Notebook

Having a notebook for any poetry is necessary. Writers need a special place to keep all of their special written treasures. A poetry notebook will help keep all of your writing organized and also be easy to carry from place to place for when you want to share your poetry. For the years to come, it will become a great family heirloom to share with children, grandchildren, or perhaps become a published piece of work to share with all of your favorite fans!

Instructions

    • 1

Browse for a good sturdy notebook in your local bookstore, craftshop, or retailer such as Walmart or Kmart.

    • 2

Find a notebook that has plenty of pages large enough to write on. For those wanting books that won't let your writing fade, find a book that has acid free pages.

    • 3

Look for a notebook that has a hardback cover. Hardback covers are more durable and will last longer if you will be carrying it around various places.

    • 4

Organize your poetry notebook by putting your name on the front cover along with an address or phone number in case it is lost. You can add a title to your notebook or put the year that you began writing so you will know which notebook is your current one.

    • 5

Write in your notebook as often as you would like. You can write daily, weekly, or whenever the inspiration hits you.

    • 6

Keep a few pages in the front blank in case you want to add any notes or add a table of contents to organize your poetry.

    • 7

Take special care with your poetry notebook. If you are a dedicated writer, this is something that you will want to keep for a very long time. Take caution not to lose it, and use it as a special device for inspiration if you happen to get writer's block.
