What is another Name for Tolkien hobbits?

There isn't another official "name" for Tolkien's hobbits, as "hobbit" is the specific term J.R.R. Tolkien uses for the small, furry-footed people of Middle-earth.

However, within the Tolkien universe, hobbits are sometimes referred to by other terms:

* "Halfling": This is the term used by Elves and Men to refer to hobbits, highlighting their smaller stature compared to other races.

* "Riverfolk": This term is used by the Shire hobbits to refer to themselves, acknowledging their strong connection to the River Brandywine.

* "Periannath": This is a Sindarin Elvish term meaning "half-man" or "half-person", reflecting the Elves' perception of hobbits as a semi-human species.

So while there's no other "official" name for Tolkien's hobbits, these alternative terms are used within the world of Middle-earth.
