Does the mad hatter help Alice?

The Mad Hatter doesn't really *help* Alice in the traditional sense. He's more of a whimsical distraction and source of nonsensical advice.

Here's why:

* He's obsessed with tea parties: The Mad Hatter is more concerned with his tea party than with helping Alice. He's more interested in riddles and nonsensical conversations than in solving Alice's problems.

* He gives unhelpful advice: When Alice asks for directions, he offers confusing and illogical answers. He doesn't seem to grasp the gravity of her situation.

* He's a product of Wonderland's strange logic: The Mad Hatter is a part of the fantastical and illogical world of Wonderland. His actions and responses are often nonsensical, reflecting the nature of the environment.

While the Mad Hatter doesn't directly help Alice, he does offer a glimpse into the bizarre and intriguing world of Wonderland, contributing to the overall experience of Alice's journey.
