What does poetics have to do with

Poetics is a branch of philosophy that deals with the nature of beauty and art. It has a long history, dating back to the ancient Greeks, and has been studied by philosophers ever since. Poetics has been used to understand the nature of art, the role of the artist, and the relationship between art and society. Although poets may engage in poetic language and poetic devices to add literary embellishments to their works, poetics in the sense of a philosophy of poetry does not directly relate to the poetic devices found in a particular piece of writing.
