Determine the purpose of your guitar book. Think about your target audience and base the content of your guitar book on that. Decide if it will be for beginning players or more advanced, whether it will have information about guitar history or guitar players, or if will be on different types of guitars.
Start by writing the introduction. You could include a little about your own experience as a guitar player in the introduction as well as why you decided to make a guitar book. You could even give an overview of what will be included in the book.
Break your book down into sections. If it's going to be a general book on guitars, the first section might include a brief history on the guitar. Include information such as when the first guitar was introduced and when the electric guitar became popular. Another section might highlight guitar makers and discuss various brands of guitars. Consider writing this section as a buyer's guide. Include as many photographs as you can.
Include a special section on guitar accessories, including effects pedals, amplifiers, straps and picks. Review some of the products and include your reviews in your guitar book.
Include a section of the book devoted to basic guitar chords and playing techniques. Cover picking and strumming as well as how to read guitar tablature. You might even introduce readers to basic music notation as it applies to playing guitar.
Write your book on the computer using the word processor of your choice. Any will do. Scan any photographs you have into your computer and insert them into your book using the "Insert" command on your word processor. You can print the finished book on high-gloss paper and put it in a notebook binder, or if you're looking for a more professional presentation, take your file to a local printing specialist and have them print and bind the book for you.
