How to Write a Good Science Report

A science report should always read clearly and concisely. A science report, according to Science Fair, should have a title page, table of contents, introduction, experiments and discussion, conclusion and a list of references. These elements will make a thorough and professional science report for any academic or professional level.

      Complete all research thoroughly.

      Research the topic thoroughly. Spend some time at the community or school library, and find many reliable sources of information. Use encyclopedias, academic texts, scientific journals and science magazines. Take notes of all information that should be included in the science report. Print out the information, highlight it and create an organized folder of information.

      Make sure to include all relevant information and data.

      Write the science report using the appropriate sections. The science report should include a title page that refers to the topic being written about. A page with a table of contents should be included as well.

      List each topic on which the science report will focus. The introduction should be written about the topic as a whole. It should briefly discuss the point of the report, any experiments that were done and any hypotheses. Discuss the main points of the report and provide information from any experiments or research. Write a conclusion summing up the findings. Then, provide a page of resources and bibliography on a separate page.

      Always edit the report.

      Edit the whole report line by line. Make sure that all hypotheses and data are correctly reported. Correct any incorrect grammar or unclear sentence structure.
