What is David list?

David List refers to individuals and entities who are denied access to the United States due to their alleged involvement in human rights abuses or corruption. The list is maintained by the United States Department of State and includes individuals from various countries around the world.

Under the provisions of Section 7031(c) of the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act of 2022, the United States government is prohibited from providing certain foreign assistance or other benefits to individuals or entities that are included on the David List.

The list is named after David Kaczynski, the brother of the Unabomber, Ted Kaczynski. David reported his brother to law enforcement, leading to his capture in 1996. In recognition of his actions, the list of denied individuals was named in his honor.
