Why do you celebrate national science day?

National Science Day is celebrated to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect by Indian physicist Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman.

The Raman Effect is the scattering of light by molecules or atoms, which results in the change in the wavelength of the scattered light. This phenomenon was first observed by Raman in 1928, for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.

National Science Day is celebrated in India on February 28 every year to commemorate this significant discovery.

The Day is celebrated by organizing various events, seminars, workshops, and exhibitions to create awareness about the importance of science and technology in our daily lives.

It also serves as a reminder and source of inspiration for young students to pursue careers in science and research.
