Why is the book called a raisin in sun?

The title, "A Raisin in the Sun" is inspired by a line from the poem, "Harlem," written by Langston Hughes. The poem reads, "What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?" The title aptly represents the play's themes of deferred dreams, racial discrimination, and the aspirations of African Americans in America.
