Why Harry Potter play the last game of Quidich in sixth book?

Harry Potter did not play the last game of Quidditch in the sixth book. He was unable to participate due to an injury he sustained during a lesson with Professor Snape. Cormac McLaggen took his place as Seeker for the Gryffindor team.
