How is fate foreshadowed in her opening scene with Ismene

Fate is first foreshadowed in Antigone's opening scene with Ismene through their discussion about the family curse and the death of their brothers, Eteocles and Polyneices. Antigone is determined to defy Creon's order and bury Polyneices, despite Ismene's warnings of the consequences. This determination foreshadows Antigone's tragic fate, as it ultimately leads to her death.

Additionally, the opening scene also mentions the prophecy that Oedipus received from Apollo, the god of prophecy. The prophecy states that the end of the house of Labdacus will come when a son of Oedipus unknowingly kills his father and marries his mother. This foreshadows the tragic events that will unfold in the play, including the deaths of Antigone and her siblings.
