In Frankenstein Why victor want to share his secret?

In Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Victor Frankenstein does not want to share his secret. He keeps his creation of the monster a secret from everyone, including his family and friends. He is afraid of what people will think of him if they know he has created a living creature. He is also afraid of the monster itself and what it might do if it were to escape.
