In this covenant, God promised to make of Abram a great nation, and to give his descendants the land of Canaan, while Abram was required to be faithful and to walk before God in obedience and integrity.
The Mosaic covenant (Exodus 20-24)
God delivered the Israelites from slavery in Egypt and established a covenant with them through the Law of Moses. The covenant outlined God's commandments and regulations, and the Israelites were required to follow them in order to be blessed and maintain a right relationship with God.
The Davidic covenant (2 Samuel 7)
God promised King David that his dynasty would endure forever and a descendant would rule on the throne as a righteous and just ruler. This covenant pointed forward to the Messiah, Jesus Christ, the true King of David's lineage.
The New covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-34)
In the New covenant, God promised forgiveness and the transformation of hearts. Under this covenant, the Law would be written on people's hearts, enabling them to live by God's standards and experience a more intimate relationship with Him.
The covenant of Jesus' blood (Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:25)
Jesus inaugurated the New covenant by shedding His blood for our sins. Through faith in Him, believers can have eternal life and forgiveness of sins.
