In the film, Peter Pan refuses to grow up. He lives in Neverland, a place where there is no time and no rules. He spends his days playing with the Lost Boys and fighting pirates. When Wendy and her children come to Neverland, Peter is forced to confront the reality that he cannot stay a child forever. He must eventually grow up and return to the real world.
Through the journey in the movie, "Hook" presents Peter with difficult challenges that force him to mature. Throughout the movie Peter Pan must face his responsibilities and learns valuable life lessons about growing up, taking responsibility for one's actions, and the importance of family and relationships. In the end, he overcomes his fear of adulthood and becomes a responsible father and partner while still embodying many qualities of his boyhood and childlike spirit such as innocence, imagination, positivity, adventure.
