Who wrote the tales of Brer Rabbit?

The Tales of Brer Rabbit, also known as Uncle Remus stories, were written by Joel Chandler Harris. He was an American journalist and author who collected and adapted these folktales from African American oral tradition.

While Harris himself didn't create the stories, he played a significant role in preserving and popularizing them for a wider audience. He published them in a series of books, most notably "Uncle Remus: His Songs and His Sayings" (1880) and "Nights with Uncle Remus" (1883).
