There was a storyline where Sam, Melinda's husband, got possessed by Jim in season 4, episode 9, titled "Deception". However, he didn't actually become Jim. He was simply controlled by Jim's spirit for a short period of time.
It's understandable to mix up these concepts, as the episode was definitely a dramatic and unsettling one!
