How bad was James hetfields burn?

In 1992, Metallica frontman James Hetfield suffered second and third-degree burns to his arm, face and neck after pyrotechnics went off prematurely during a concert in Montreal. Hetfield was taken to hospital and underwent skin grafts. He has since made a full recovery.
