Describe story that is told in franz E rlking?

In "Erlking" a father and his young son are riding home, late at night when the boy start seeing and hearing the Erlkring, mythical forest spirit. The father assures his son they is nothing to fear, despite increasingly vivid and urgent descriptions . Finally as they reach home, boy has gone pale and cold death from fear.

The poem uses imagery to create mood of suspense , darkness and fear it captures child perception of mysterious and unsettling power of darkness
